A JR Group Initiative, Chef–in–Box was established in 2001 with the vision of creating quality meals in a box for the convenience of all individuals.

These ready made meals make use of advanced cook-chill and cook-freeze technology to seal in the nutrients and are sold conveniently through Hot Food Vending Machines. In August, Chef–in–Box opened a new concept of vending machine clusters at Singapore’s homeland at Anchorvale, with the event graced by Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Formwerkz was involved to conceptualize and design Singapore’s first ‘Vendcafe’ as a public space integrating communal retail user experience into the context of a HDB void deck.
